I love the mountain. From an early age I had the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of our Alps, all from east to west. We are lucky enough to enjoy a heritage that the whole world envies us, with characteristics that make it unique and different from location to location.
My family and I
have chosen Alta Valtellina for many reasons related to the natural environment and the sensations that are felt in these places. The first emotion that emerges is linked to the possibility of admiring the perennial glaciers. It is wonderful to contemplate the
Cima Piazzi from the balcony of the Fraele Towers or the
Forni glacier- the largest Italian valley glacier - a simple excursion to everyone, or even the
Stelvio glacier, which catches us with its charm going up by cableway.
Even for trekking lovers these places are fantastic: pristine valleys that leave you breathless, like Val Viola or Val Verva, the plateau of
Cancano lakes, up to Val Trela and the Val Alpisella with its numerous farms and mountain pastures, where to appreciate a
good plate of pizzoccheri, a platter of ham, bresaola and local cheese ... And in Alta Valtellina,
mountain bike lovers, like me, find endless solutions: miles and miles of trails to explore and experience the charm of these mountains; the Bike Park of nearby Livigno, with its exciting slopes for those who want to fill up with adrenaline; the exciting route of the road cycling temple with the legendary Stelvio Pass, where the history of the bike was made.
In Italy there are a lot of passes, but the
Cima Coppi is a place of pilgrimage for thousands of cyclists each year, as, indeed, the Gavia pass, where the 1988 tour of Italy, under a snow storm, meant that this climb became legendary, without forget the Mortirolo, the ascent of "pirate" Marco Pantani, just to name a few examples. For ski lovers in Alta Valtellina there are five ski resorts, each with definable features to satisfy all needs. "Our" San Colombano, Bormio, Santa Caterina, Livigno and the realm of the Stelvio pass summer skiing.
And after all this sport, it is fantastic to
regenerate at the Bormio hot springs, in the center of Alta Valtellina, where the atmosphere is cozy all year round and you can have fun at any time you decide to spend a holiday. For my house in the mountains, however, I chose Valdidentro, because I did not find any other place that, like this one, best expressed all the features I have listed, to which I added, with great pleasure, the hospitality of the local people: simple people, but of ancient values, people with whom it is nice to meet and maybe stay.
Maybe stay ... it is also to cultivate this dream that I bought a house in the
Residence Alpe Solena built by Futura Immobili in
Valdidentro: the "attic Soverini" for now is just the mountain holiday home for me and my family, but in the future ... who knows!
